double fishtail braid

This double fishtail braid has a fantastic vintage feel. At the nape of the neck, the two plaits weave together into one. This would also be gorgeous with a mermaid braid.

For another unique braided hairstyle, try this double French braid. Rather than dividing hair into two equal sections, this braid has an asymmetrical twist. To get this look, create three equal sections of hair and braid two of them into a French braid and gently secure it at the nape of the neck. Then braid the final section into a side crown braid, again stopping at the nape of the neck. Then gather all the hair and continue braiding until the end.

triple dutch braid

This triple braid mixes it up with two French braids on the side and an inside out Dutch braid on top. From the front, the middle inside out braid gives lots of height and volume at the crown. Three plaits are braided until the end of hair and tied into a eye-catching knot.
